Riaz, Nauman and Zarak powers ERCC to 2nd win this season<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off-spinner Riaz Ali and\nNauman Javaid displayed fine line, length and impressive accuracy to dismantle\nTorrance House top order in Saturday\u2019s WDCU Division 2 league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sent to bat first Torrance\nHouse struggled to keep the momentum going, with wickets falling at regular\ninterval, runs were hard to come by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riaz gave an early\nbreakthrough sending Matthew Deighan for a duck caught behind by Zarak Ahad,\nNauman seized the opportunity and kept the pressure on the other end picking\nhis victim in captain Alan Meikle (1) yet another caught behind by Zarak Ahad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glenn Taylor started off\nwell but failed to sustain and was clean bowled off Nauman\u2019s inswinger for 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sahil Kakar (9) and Nasim\nMalik (2) couldn\u2019t match Riaz and Nauman\u2019s combination of speed, movement and\nprecision they both got out cheaply leaving visitors in a lot of trouble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to Shahid Mahmood\u2019s\nunbeaten 31 which helped his side to a defendable 89 all out in 34.4 overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riaz 3-8 (6.4) and Nauman\n3-25 (8) were pick of the ERCC bowlers, while Zubair Muhammad 2-15 (5), Imtanan\nRaza 1-15 (7) and Tariq Shabbir 1-12 (3) claimed rest of TH wickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ERCC started off poorly\nlosing captain and opener Shahzad Malik bowled for duck off Jonathan Watkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite of an early wicket,\na valued partnership between Ali Qazi and wicketkeeper batsman Zarak Ahad took\nERCC out of danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ali perished playing a rash\nshot of Cameron Pietersen for 17, Mohammed Sabir (4) was the only other wicket\nfallen lbw off Cameron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zarak carried the bat for\nan unbeaten 57 making sure ERCC reached the target in just 18.2 overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur plan seems to be\nworking pretty well,\u201d claimed Ammar Ashraf – ERCC Team Manager. \u201cI want to\nconcentrate on one game at a time and try to learn from our mistakes to\ncapitalise for the next game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are here (Division 2)\nto prove a point and to make sure our promotion in this league does not go to\nwaste, league is still at the early stages we have a lot of work to be done,\u201d\nsaid Ammar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Division 4, Glasgow\nSouth (ERCC 2nd) failed to register a win against Galloway 2nd despite of\nShakir Hussain\u2019s maiden century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batting first Glasgow South\nscored a mammoth 308-5 in 40 overs, bulk of the scores coming off the bat of\ntop order batsmen Damian De Silva (67) and Shakir Hussain (136).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Captain Imran Khan (28),\nZain Ul Abadeen (35 not out) and Zaheer-u-din Ommer (22 not out) contributed\nwell in Glasgow South\u2019s scorecard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chasing 309 Galloway 2nd\nlost early wickets, but Alan Lamb (48), Gary Thomson (31) Arron Richardson (20\nnot out) and John Whitehouse (14 not out) made sure they played the full 40\novers resulting in a format draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 11\/5\/19 WDCU Division 2\n– ERCC will lock horns against Dean Park in an away game at King George V\nplaying fields in Renfrew, while WDCU Division 4 – Glasgow South will meet\nKirkstyle at home in Hamilton Palace Grounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
