ERCC extend winning streak in WDCU Division 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ERCC extended their WDCU\nDivision 2 League winning streak to four after thrashing Galloway by 5 wickets\nin Saturday\u2019s away game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off-spinner Riaz Ali known\nto pick up early wickets with the new ball didn\u2019t disappoint his skipper once\nagain he managed to send opener Alan Lamb (14) caught Nayyar Umeed back to dug\nout leaving Galloway in a bit of a bother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Season\u2019s highest wicket\ntaker now Riaz picked up two more for his tally of 11 in four matches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After losing an early\nwicket, Galloway came back strong with their inform batsman Patrick Druce\nconstructing a solid partnership with opener Neil McGrath when runs were hard\nto come by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as the two started to\nbreak lose, Zubair Muhammad knocked Neil stumps leaving him 3 short of his\nmaiden half century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick held on tight at\none end to score his third half century of the season from as many matches\nmaking him one of the most sensational batsmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steven Carr (20) and Mark\nPagan (37) contributed well with Patrick (65) to help Galloway to a defendable\n240 (49.2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zubair was pick of the\nbowlers with 3-51 (10), skipper and off-spinner Tariq Shabbir 2-36 (9) along\nwith Riaz Ali 2-32 (10) bowled superbly. Nauman succeeded in taking the last\nman finishing 1-22 (6.2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tariq Shabbir was well\npleased with his team\u2019s performance: \u201cIt is a dead wicket and our bowlers\nspecially Zubair bowled with great control to restrict them (Galloway) for\n240.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having chased under 116\nruns in the last three matches, ERCC skipper believed it will test his side\u2019s\nbatting ability when chasing 240. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn last three matches we\nmanaged to restrict our oppositions under 115 and chased it quite comfortably,\nthe score today will be challenging in the overcast conditions,\u201d Tariq said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tariq sent Mohammed Sabir\nand Nayyar Umeed to open after missing the regular opener Ali Qazi due to injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohammed and Nayyar got off\nto a brilliant start setting a perfect platform for ERCC just as the skipper\nscripted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nayyar (32) was the first\nman to go caught and bowled Tommy McGrath. His opening partner Mohammed made an\noutstanding 69 before getting out caught by Mark Pagan off Steven Carr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, wicket-keeper\nbatsman Sachin Badhan (37) and all-rounder Nauman Javaid (57) got their side to\na comfortable position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ERCC reached the target in\n46th over with the loss of 5 wickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next matches after\nRamadhan, ERCC will take on Albert Park and Glasgow South shake hands with Bute\nand Cowal County in away games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rain stopped ERCC march on\nSaturday in the Division 2 WDCU League match against Glasgow Accies after 14\novers of play at New Williamfield on 25th May 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After winning the toss,\nGlasgow Accies sent ERCC to bat in overcast conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ERCC lost their openers Ali\nQazi (4) and Mohammed Sabir (6) quite cheaply and then Zarak Ahad (13) who got\noff to a good start but failed to capitalise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not out batsmen Sachin\nBadhan (27) and Nauman Javaid (17) took ERCC to 77\/3 (14 overs) when umpires\ndecided to call off the match due to heavy rain and the forecast for rest of\nthe day didn’t look much promising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ERCC remains unbeaten after\nthree matches in WDCU Division 2 League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glasgow South’s match\nagainst Hamilton Crescent was called off without bowling a single ball due to\nwet outfield and rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
